The NUOENWEI PCA Hose Retriever consists of three fabric layers securely connected by steel spiral reinforcement. The hose is constructed from a spiral-wound fabric tape joined by a specially engineered steel wire that is bent and clamped together with the fabric tape. The steel spiral body does not cover PVC strips, with a spacing of 12 cm between spirals and a wire diameter of 5 mm. Standard length is 7 meters, connected via industrial zipper and Velcro fasteners. The hose end features a 14-inch to 8-inch reducer for connection to standard aircraft adapters.
Designed as the core moving component of Hose Retriever systems, it enables safe, hands-free deployment and retraction directly from PCA units. The hose is engineered to be deployed and retracted automatically, delivering cold or warm air from the PCA source directly to the aircraft interface.

1. Engineered for Automated Hose Retriever Systems
The NUOENWEI PCA Hose Retriever is designed as the core moving component of Hose Retriever systems, enabling safe, hands-free, and labor-saving deployment and retraction directly from PCA units. It is automation-ready, reducing manual handling risks and improving ground crew efficiency.
2. Superior Triple-Layer Thermal Insulation
The hose features inner and outer layers of PVC-coated polyester fabric with a 2–5 mm polyethylene (PE) foam insulation layer in between. This triple-layer construction minimizes thermal loss, prevents condensation, and maintains air temperature from source to aircraft. The air trapped between layers provides significant additional insulation.
3. High Compression Ratio (1:9)
The innovative design—eliminating black PVC stripes on the steel spiral—enables a compression ratio of 1:9. This allows the hose to be coiled compactly in its retriever, optimizing valuable storage space in ground support equipment areas.
4. Exceptional Strength-to-Weight Ratio
With a high tensile strength of 2700 N/5 cm (ISO 1421/1) and a low weight of just 2.8 kg/m, the hose withstands significant pulling forces while reducing load on the HR system for energy-efficient operation.
5. Modular Zip & Velcro Connection System
Industrial-grade zippers with Velcro seals allow for quick, tool-free assembly of hose sections. Standardized Start, Intermediate, and Final sections enable customizable total lengths and easy section replacement—drastically reducing downtime and maintenance costs compared to replacing an entire hose.
6. Superior Pressure & Temperature Resistance
Capable of withstanding a nominal working pressure of 12,000 Pa and test pressure of 20,000 Pa, with stable operation within an ambient temperature range of -20°C to +70°C.
7. Steel Spiral with Mechanical Crimping – No Welding
The steel wire is mechanically crimped onto the fabric—not welded—resulting in maximum extension life and easier handling. The steel spiral body does not cover PVC stripes, reducing friction on wing surfaces and increasing the overall compression ratio.
8. Fire Safety Certified
Complies with stringent aviation and ground support safety standards: NFPA 701 and UL94 VTM-0 certified.
